For tiffin services and meal plans
Run your tiffin service on WhatsApp: plans, skips and renewals.
With Sellly, customers start a meal plan in your WhatsApp chat: they pick the plan and a start date, say how spicy they like it and what to leave out, and pay for the period. They pause or skip a day themselves, and each morning you see who to cook for.
Hi, do you have a monthly lunch plan? I’m in Madhapur.

Where the chats get stuck, and what changes
- “No lunch tomorrow, I’m travelling”
- Sent at night, and remembered the next morning after the tiffin is packed.
- With Sellly: Customers skip a day or pause from the chat by sending my plan, and the day’s list leaves them out.
- Who has paid for this month?
- A notebook of names, amounts and dates, checked against UPI messages.
- With Sellly: Each plan shows when it runs until and whether it’s paid, and a renewal reminder goes out before it ends.
- Less spicy, no onion
- Preferences that live in someone’s memory.
- With Sellly: Each customer’s spice level and what to leave out are asked when they start, and kept with their plan.
- How many tiffins today?
- Counting heads every morning.
- With Sellly: The Deliveries list shows who to cook for today and tomorrow, with skips and pauses already taken out.
How it works
- A customer asks about a planFrom your number, your store page or a poster in the building.
- They choose a plan and a start dateLunch, lunch and dinner, weekdays only: each plan with its own price and period.
- They tell you their preferencesHow spicy, and anything to leave out, with the address it goes to.
- They pay for the periodBy UPI or bank transfer, straight to you. The plan starts on its date once you’ve seen the payment.
- They pause or skip when they need toFrom the chat, any time. A pause moves the plan’s end date, so they don’t lose the days.
- Renewals come roundA few days before a plan ends, the customer is reminded to pay for the next period, and you see who’s due.
What’s ready when you sign up
Sellly sets these up from the kind of business you choose. You can change every one of them.
- Plans to start from
- Sample plans (veg lunch for a week or a month, lunch and dinner for a month), marked as samples until you change them.
- Preferences
- “Start a meal plan” asks how spicy (Mild, Medium, Spicy) and what to leave out, and keeps the answers with the plan.
- Delivery
- Each plan delivered to the customer’s address.
- Pay for the period
- By UPI or bank transfer. Customers aren’t charged automatically; each renewal is a payment they make from the reminder.
- A menu that matches
- Your Sellly menu: Subscriptions, Plans, Customers, Reports. Subscriptions holds the day’s deliveries.
The rules for your business
A tiffin service is a food business, so it needs an FSSAI registration before it starts, and since 1 April 2026 the basic registration covers sales up to ₹1.5 crore a year. Meals are a service for GST, so registration is needed once sales pass ₹20 lakh a year in most states. More, with sources, in selling food from home in India.
What Sellly doesn’t do
So you know before you start.
- Charge customers automatically. Each period is a payment the customer makes from the reminder.
- Plan delivery routes or assign drivers.
- Plan menus or count ingredients.
- Hold or move your money. Customers pay you directly.
Questions
Can a customer skip a single day?
Yes. They send my plan in the chat and choose the day. It shows on your list for that day, and nothing is sent.
What happens when someone pauses for a week?
Their plan pauses, and when it starts again its end date moves on by the days they missed.
Can I offer more than one plan?
Yes: lunch only, lunch and dinner, weekly or monthly. Each plan has its own price and period, and customers choose in the chat.
Can I keep using the WhatsApp Business app?
Not on the same number yet. Until you can connect it yourself through Facebook, a number on Sellly can’t stay in the WhatsApp Business app at the same time: use a new number, or move your current one over.
